About this place
A pronounced aroma of dried fish flakes and a velvety, potage-like mouthfeel define the broth at Ishikawa. Combining the robust, savory depth of pork bones with seafood dashi, this double soup carries notable viscosity without unpleasant harshness, leaving a gentle sweetness and rich body on the palate. Layers of meat and seafood flavor are densely concentrated, ensuring the soup makes an immediate impression from the very first spoonful.
Paired with the thick broth are medium-thick noodles with a distinct yellow hue and a smooth, lively slurp. Each bite reveals firm chew and elasticity, holding its own against the clinging soup. A standard portion is a satisfying 200 grams of noodles, accompanied by thick-cut simmered chashu pork that yields easily along the grain and a soft-boiled seasoned egg with a custardy yolk.
Beyond hot soup noodles, diners can opt for tsukemen, dipping thick noodles into a concentrated broth seasoned with shichimi chili blend for a pleasant, brisk accent amidst the creamy richness. Rice is available to soak up the intense broth alongside savory chashu, and canned beer offers a quick cold drink.
Seating is arranged entirely along a single counter. Guests purchase a paper ticket from the cash-only vending machine, pick up a glass of water, and take a seat. The shop operates in split lunch and dinner shifts from Monday to Thursday, opens for lunch only on Fridays, and closes on weekends. In the Nishi-Shinbashi office district, it remains a reliable choice for a focused, solo bowl of deeply flavored tonkotsu-gyokai ramen.
